The Scream Breaks the Silence

A bloodcurdling yell shattered the suffocating silence. It echoed across the empty hall, causing goosebumps to rise on my arms. A heart hammered inside my chest as I attempted to pinpoint the location of the frightening sound.

Was it real? Or was my imagination running amuck in the shadowy stillness? I remained frozen in fear, unable to respond. Without warning, a silhouette emerged from the gloom.
